Cue the drums! Sound the trumpets! Amber Events presents… THE SPIRIT OF GIVING. A holiday-styled photoshoot headed by our very own spirit animal, Jackie Hsu. If you or someone you know is still looking to purchase gifts for loved ones, why not consider buying from businesses that give back? That’s why we’ve collaborated with organizations and vendors that have passion and purpose. Amber Events loves aligning with people that do business and live their lives with great intention. In all aspects of our purchases, we as consumers have a choice… Finding ways to give back during the holiday season really adds to the spirit of giving and makes an impact on those who need a helping hand.

Located on the ridgeline between Beverly Hills and Studio City is Coldwater Canyon Park, home to TreePeople’s Center for Community Forestry. TreePeople is a nonprofit organization that inspires and supports L. A. communities to “plant and care for trees, harvest the rain, and renew depleted landscapes.” They’re who we like to call “bridge builders,” for connecting people with each other and their environment. They warmly welcomed us on this cold day for our holiday get-together; a point called Torrey Pines Outlook is where we set up shop. The view was breathtaking!

Now onto the details of the shoot. First, a delicate escort display. We strung three window frames with twine, then attached green leaves marked with metallic gold, and tiny cloth sacks filled with–you guessed it–seeds. Jackie says, “It’s a multipurpose seating assignment and favor in one!” We think it’s a great way to encourage guests to nurture their own green thumbs, don’t you?

What’s a party without confetti? Here’s our spin on it–lavender.

We fashioned cones with brown butcher paper, stuffed the bottoms with moss, and filled them with the good stuff. This confetti is bio-degradable and smells great! Perch them upright in a cage basket lined with linen, and let the celebration begin.

Many thanks to TreePeople for being great hosts, and to Michael and Lauren from A Guy + A Girl Photography for making us look good! We hope you’ve enjoyed part one of our holiday feature. Oh yes–THERE’S MORE. Come back soon to see what other ways we channeled the spirit of giving. In the mean time, step outside and enjoy! Happy holidays!
