Montana recently joined the Amber Events team, and we are very grateful she took the time to fill out our intern questionnaire. Enjoy! Nira
How did you learn about Interning or Assisting for Amber Events?
I learned about the opportunity to intern for Amber Events through the club ASEP (Association of Student Event Planners) at my school, Cal Poly Pomona.
Tell us about yourself and how it relates to the wedding industry.
I have always loved weddings and have fallen more in love with them as I intern for Amber Events. I simply adore every detail that goes into an event and I fall into that category of people who just love “love”.
What tasks did you complete for this wedding?
Some of my tasks at this wedding included setting up reception tables with candle holders and table numbers, guiding guests to their correct tables, helping with the escort card display and much more.
What surprised you?
I would have to say I was surprised by how, as a team, we were able to overcome the displacement of time when the church ceremony started and ended earlier than expected. The AE staff, venue staff, and chef, all made changes to accomodate and put us right back to the originally scheduled timeline.
What is your favorite part of this wedding?
My favorite part of this wedding was when the best man gave his speech. It really displayed the love he had for Sandy and Alex as a couple and to me that is what it is all about.
What shoes did you wear?
Simple black comfy flats!
The uniform for the Amber Events staff is a black polka dot cardigan and slacks. What did you do to Jazz up your look?
I am a big fan of rings and earrings. I happen to wear at least 3 rings and pink rhinestone earrings at this wedding.
What is your favorite wedding scene from a movie?
I am not sure if this qualifies as a “wedding scene’ but I love when Melanie Smooter tells Jake, “So I can kiss you anytime I want.” in responding to why she wants to marry him in the movie Sweet Home Alabama.
Do you have any words for anyone wanting to join the wedding industry?
If you have any sort of love or awe for the industry, try it out! Being a part of somebody’s special day is one of the most rewarding things I have experienced.
Final Comments:
I admire Nira and Amber and am so thankful for them to give me such a great opportunity to learn and grow!
