Today, I’m so excited to share our recent journey to Northwest Arkansas for the grand opening of The Ravington! Just last year, we said our goodbyes and sent all our love to Amber Gustafson (founder, friend, mentor, and unicorn) and her family as they embarked on the next chapter of their adventure – the creation of the most beautifully epic event venue exuding elegance and historic charm.
We couldn’t be happier for Amber and her husband Eric when we heard they found the perfect century-old building to renovate with their pure creative and magical talents. They are the perfect team to create a venue – Amber as planner, project manager, and overall hustlin’ business woman and Eric as expert designer and builder. Together, they dreamed up and handcrafted an incredible event venue featuring high ceilings, exposed original brick, reclaimed wooden floors, stained glass windows, custom furniture, a gorgeous courtyard, dreamy bridal suite, and lofted grooms’ lounge.
Every inch and every detail has intention, thoughtfulness, and character. Let’s just say we’re a bit jealous that NWA gets to have Amber, Eric, and their stunning one-of-a-kind venue. During our visit, I kept wishing to myself this perfect indoor and outdoor, tastefully designed space was in Los Angeles. We miss Amber SO much!
The journey was long, challenging, stressful to say the least, and truly pushed their limits. It has been a precious experience to witness their dreams come to life. I heard Amber begin talking about this vision when I first started working with her over three years ago. I cheered her along the way through the major life transition from 14 years in Los Angeles back to their roots in NWA. After following their updates and glimpses of construction, renovation, and pretty details, I couldn’t wait to see it all in person.
The moment I walked in… I felt like I jumped into a picture. I have to admit I teared up a little seeing their hard work and dreams come into fruition. My favorite space has to be the Groom’s lofted lounge as it overlooks the grand indoor space. It is also home to the iconic Mr. Elkington, a decorated war hero Elk taxidermy. A painting of Mr. Ravington and the stained glass bathroom door window were beautifully painted and crafted by family. As a big fan of repurposing goods and “upcycling”, I was thrilled to see that most building materials were reclaimed or antique. Another favorite detail is featured in the romantic Bridal Suite. Not just one vanity, but five! Enough getting ready room for all the girls accommodated by plenty of natural light and even charming old love letters displayed under the table top glass. I want to live here.
We couldn’t be more proud to gush and rave over The Ravington. There is so much to celebrate. The Ravington is your event 100 years in the making. Dear NWA, I guess you can keep Amber and Eric. Happy wedding week! Cheers to The Ravington as they celebrate and host their first wedding this weekend!
