Whether you choose to stay local or travel for your wedding, creating a welcome bag for your guests is a great way to make them feel at home. Let’s use a real Amber Events wedding as an example—earlier this year, Candice and Ben tied the knot at the Meadowood Luxury Resort in Napa Valley. With friends and family coming in from the other side of the state and elsewhere, the couple wanted to show their appreciation for making the trek. Read on for some ideas in creating your own welcome bag!
Let’s start with the basics: fill a small bag with some snacks and a bottled water. This bag included cheesy puffs, apple chips, and a protein bar. Then, customize your bag according to location. Candice and Ben encouraged their guests to enjoy the outdoors (after all, this was wine country!) by adding lip balm and a travel-sized bottle of sunblock. Further personalize your bag by adding a short note. A half sheet of cardstock should suffice, and a list of other things to do on the flip side makes for a truly memorable getaway.
Finish your welcome bag with some fun embellishments. Here, a cut of lace was a nice contrast against the burlap bag. A gift tag with a personalized stamp made it feel like a special gift, indeed. After any length of travel, your guests will surely appreciate this gesture!
