Light Lab is a creative studio and event space located in the bustling Los Angeles neighborhood of Atwater Village. Co-owners Anne, Caroline and Jayden (a husband-and-wife duo) transformed this rundown warehouse into a vibrant, and may we say, very pretty space. It has a dedicated kitchen and lounge, along with plenty of room for imagination. Even the bathroom is stylish, with its black-and-white geometric patterned floor, pink-and-white marbled wallpaper, and gold fixtures. When our very own Jackie Hsu saw an opportunity to collaborate, she went for it!
Jackie wanted to scheme up a styled photoshoot that reflected Light Lab itself—clean lines with pops of color. Inspired by the summer season and a love for travel, she and the rest of our awesome vendors created something beautiful. Along the tablescape, the dinnerware was kept neutral against a similar-toned table. The florals and greenery brought the setting to life, with bright pink peonies and mini-roses, along with fuchsia cockscomb. Small succulents were placed in equally small, textured planters. Delicate greenery arrangements were scattered in aqua, glass bottles. Height was added with open, house-like fixtures, one in which an aloe plant lived. Flashes of gold were brought in with accented glassware.
In addition to providing the cool, acrylic place cards, Alyssa of Fawn Lettering created a chic bar menu, featuring the grapefruit paloma. Tequila, grapefruit juice, rosemary simple syrup, and lime juice is a perfect refresher! Add a sprig of rosemary and a slice of grapefruit, and it becomes extra-special. The invitation suite, also designed by Alyssa, used the same color scheme as the tablescape–how perfect!
Next week, we’ll focus on a few other key players–makeup artist Maggie Cathey and dress designer Trish Peng. You won’t want to miss it!
