Melissa’s first wedding experience with Amber Events was with us at Erin and Austin’s Hotel Bel Air Wedding. This was a soft, romantic, and classy event at the ever beautiful Hotel Bel Air. Melissa was a great addition as she assisted us with the entire setup, transition, and flow of the evening. This gal is super fun and smart and It was an honor to work with her. Let’s just see what she had to say about her day. {nira}
How did you learn about Interning or Assisting for Amber Events?
I first heard if amber events through a club at cal poly Pomona.
Tell us about yourself and how it relates to the wedding industry.
I am a second year hospitality management major at cal poly Pomona, and I have been interested in weddings since a very young age. I have always been the go to girl when it come to planning parties or events. I planned all the major school events at my high school with one if my dear friends. I have always envisioned myself planning weddings and parties for people.
What tasks did you complete for this wedding?
At the wedding I did a bit if everything. I helped with the escort card, placing the menus on the assigned seats, checking linens, assisting guest in signing the guest book upon arrival, helping end the ceremony, showing guest their tables.
What surprised you?
I was surprised at how smoothly everything went. You usually hear about weddings never sticking to the timeline, but Amber and Nira made sure everything was always on time.
What is your favorite part of this wedding?
I loved everything about this wedding! The thing I think I will never forget though is doing the HORA! That was on of the most intense but fun things I have ever done.
What shoes did you wear?
I wore comfy black flats.
The uniform for the Amber Events staff is a black button down shirt and slacks. What did you do to Jazz up your look?
I wore a black shirt, but they had gold buttons to jazz it up a bit.
What is your favorite wedding scene from a movie?
My favorite movie scene is at the end of 27 dresses when Jane is no longer a bridesmaid, and finally a bride!
Do you have any words for anyone wanting to join the wedding industry?
The one piece of advice I can give is to build relationships with others in the industry and it will help make life a bit easier!
Final Comments:
I am so greatful that I got to do this particular wedding. It was beyond beautiful and I will never forget it! I am forever thankful to Amber and Nira for letting me be apart of that day!
